I’ve been testing quite a few VR glasses lately, so I can form an opinion. I was lucky enough to test high-performance glasses, but also the least high-performance ones. I’m glad this happened because you can’t form a relevant opinion just by testing a model.

I really appreciate the fact that technology is advancing and that we are being offered alternatives. Each time I was the guarantor of the competition. Being competitive in the market, beautiful things appear, things that can be improved from version to version.
And yes, VR technology can be further improved. We have some limitations, because there is not so much content, but we can not help but notice the technological progress. I think the future sounds good, and VR glasses will successfully replace 3D technology.
Who knows, maybe we’ll see VR glasses instead of 3D TVs, right? I still hope that someone will offer us some boxes compatible with the new technology. We will see…
What you need to know before choosing VR glasses?

Some people get tired when they wear VR glasses. This can happen either because they are very cheap glasses, or because they are not ordinary, they are not adapted to such a thing.
I’ve been wearing normal glasses for a while. I wanted to be protected because I spend a lot of time in front of the computer and gadgets. That’s why I said it’s good to put on my glasses.
I had no problem with virtual reality. Sure, my eyes got a little wet in the first few minutes, but it’s normal. I felt worse when I had 3d glasses. I cried a little more. Tired, I think I’m tired just as fast.
On what principle do virtual reality glasses work?
Virtual reality did not appear today, but it has been present for years. Since the ’90s. Sure, it was a different level, but we’re basically talking about the same things.
From a technical point of view, things are relatively simple. We have a set of lenses placed at eye level that brings in the plan 2 distinct images. You best see these differences with 3d glasses, although we’re not really talking about the same technology.
This set of lenses is supported by the head-mounted display. From it you can adjust the image for high-performance models, you can add sound, usually with a pair of headphones.
A 6DoF system is used to track our head movements. Just like “sensitive” game chairs. You can read more about it here.
There is a lot of discussion about the evolution of the system to follow your gaze, to follow the complete movements of the body: hands, feet.
How do I choose virtual reality glasses?
Let’s look at some criteria.
Quality of materials
In the first phase, I took some cardboard. I could swear they were improvised, I thought someone was making fun of me. I was really funny with that card on me, in a world … far from the real one.
Then I managed to play with Oculus. There was already a difference, the quality of the materials much better, a very strong design, side buttons with touch screen. We’re already talking about something else entirely.
Support and dimensions accepted
I liked that the Oculus was suspiciously simple. In addition, they could be used very quickly on a 4 ′ or 6 ′ phone. You had no business, no fear that the phone would fall off the stand.
I also tested a model from Vonino. I’m still trying to imagine what they want to be. If I’m cool if it really sells like that … I think I struggled for a week figuring out where to put my phone.
Buttons or remote control at hand
You will play. You will need a remote control, handy buttons to easily navigate through them. I liked how easily the Oculus buttons responded. It is a good idea to have touch buttons to the right of the glasses.
Which phones are compatible with VR technology?
Most. That it’s Samsung, that it’s Nexus, that it’s Apple models working. You need a newer Android, from 4 onwards.
There are 5 models that I recommend at the end of 2020 and for 2021

Virtual reality on the computer
Nowadays, technology is in its infancy, so we have a few computer options. However, even for these, we need a lot of hardware resources. We need a computer that knows about VR technology, which is not exactly cheap.
It is not yet known in which direction we will go. I think VR will belong to the console. The feeling will be amazing when we can easily control the whole game. Basically, let’s be there, in the game. To create a reality for us.
I tried to make an article to help you choose the best VR glasses for you. Of course, technology is advancing, which is why I invite you to discuss in the comments.
