If you encounter problems while installing Windows on ASUS ZenBook 13, here’s the solution

A friend of mine brought me the other day his ASUS ZenBook 13 to install Windows 10 on it. The laptop was brand new. Ok! So far so good. I’ve grabbed my Kingston Digital HyperX flash drive having Windows 10 on it and stuck it into the sole USB socket of the laptop. I pressed the Power button and then the ESC button so as to enter in the boot menu and…..surprisingly – ASUS ZenBook 13 did not recognize my USB device. Initially I thought it was the old version of Windows on the Kingston Digital HyperX so I wrote a new version of Windows 10 and went back to work, but in vain, strangely enough. It didn’t work this time, either. I searched for information on ASUS site on Google, but in BIOS everything was configured correctly. Then I tried another flash drive but still…. ASUS ZenBook 13 could not recognize it whatsoever…

While keep asking myself what else I should try, I came up with the idea of using an USB hub. It turned out to be a good one since the ASUS ZenBook 13 laptop finally recognized my flash drive 😂🙌🙌😂

After that I’ve started installing Windows 10, setup was starting….until it reached the window where I had to select the partition that I wanted to install Windows 10 ⁉️🙀, nothing to choose from – no ssd/hdd displayed. I figured it out quickly this time, Windows 10 has no driver for Inel SSD 660p Series, so I had to download this driver as .zip from the Intel site and then extracted the files on a different flash drive to be entered into the same USB hub connected to the laptop (while under the current step of the installation I had to select the partition) and I installed the driver. Everything went smoothly from then on.

After I returned the laptop to my friend, he told me:
“I took this laptop from work and I can say that it is a real gem; it looks and feels great. The first time I saw it, I thought it was 11 “, but no: the 13” screen actually has such a narrow frame that the format of the laptop is much more compact than normal. The way the hinges have been implemented also contributes to this, which makes part of the bottom edge (usually the widest) of the screen hidden under the base of the laptop, so that it looks much narrower. The result obtained is special not only from an aesthetic point of view, but also from a practical point of view, because the portability is thus much improved. For example, I take it with me in my regular shoulder bag. And because it’s extremely light, I don’t even feel its weight. But I do not want to neglect the aesthetic aspect, which I can say is really perfect, adopting modern design lines that blend perfectly with a quality of construction at the highest level. And contrary to my initial fears, the chiclet keyboard is very comfortable to use, the adjustment period is minimal. Of course, pressing the key is not very long, but on a laptop with a thickness of not even 2cm, I don’t really see where some keys with a longer stroke could have gone. In terms of performance, obviously, everything is superlative. Except for games, which are not subject to the activity of such a laptop, everything works perfectly. The i7 processor actually flies, and the 512 GB SSD is not only very spacious, but also very fast, so everything works smoothly, the operating system starts very quickly, and applications open almost instantly. The matte screen is not bad at all, I was even a little surprised by the fidelity of the colors rendered. Unfortunately, the speakers lack bass, but how small the laptop is is perfectly understandable. And anyway, more importantly, the sound is clearly reproduced in any situation. Autonomy is also superlative. Unfortunately, I was not able to test exactly how long the battery lasts and this for a very simple reason – it lasts too long. From what I have used so far, I noticed that after approx. After 6 hours of Office, emails and browsing, I still had about 50% of the battery. Therefore, the autonomy should easily exceed 10 hours, which means that the little one can easily support a whole day’s work away from any source of energy. In conclusion, the ASUS ZenBook 13 is an excellent ultra-portable, and the purchase price seems unbeatable for what it offers. Therefore, I recommend it not only for the very good quality and performance, but also for the special quality / price ratio.”
